Detour supports lettera27, a non-profit Foundation whose mission is to defend the right to literacy, education, and access to knowledge and information all over the world, with a special focus on more deprived areas.
The main current activities of lettera 27, realized also thanks to the donations by Moleskine, are:

• WikiAfrica - a project designed to Africanize Wikipedia through networks, research, projects, publications, and events. WikiAfrica contributes to Wikimedia projects online and offline with texts, quotes, images, audio, and video.

• Amref Dagoretti Children - dedicated to chokora infants and children (trash in Swahili), who live on garbage they find in the street. The goal of the project is to restore an identity and to give a voice to children and adolescents who are barely eking out an existence; to do this, Amref Dagoretti Children aims at create opportunities for access to knowledge, experiences of new possible communities, professional opportunities, microcredit and restoration of the children to their families.
